When I click on any menu on my site, I get a black window with the white X = Lightbox, but with no picture. With lightbox enabled the menus don’t work, you can’t navigate the site.
We disabled lightbox and the menus work again.
There is some kind of conflict with Lightbox and the new WP update, I think.
9 December 2020 at 09:04 #42456DarkChibiShadowParticipantJust chiming in to say I have the exact same problem on my own site!
9 December 2020 at 11:26 #42457nelaParticipantWe are experiencing the same issue on a client’s website. After I disabled the lightbox plugin, the bug was gone.
9 December 2020 at 11:26 #42458legs_ohaganParticipantHaving the exact same problem after auto update to WP 5.6
9 December 2020 at 12:37 #42459sixtysevenParticipantLooks like there’s a problem with the jquery.swipebox.js, I have experienced the same on a site without the plugin installed.
9 December 2020 at 13:59 #42460freitag3000Participantsame on my site since today.
9 December 2020 at 15:50 #42461HarveyParticipantIt looks like if you switch from SwipeBox to prettyPhoto it works.
But I really want SwipeBox.
9 December 2020 at 16:26 #42464Serhii13ParticipantI have a similar bug. right after today’s update jet pack
9 December 2020 at 17:07 #42465webkatdesignParticipantHas there been a response from dfactory yet. We are experiencing the same issues.
9 December 2020 at 17:58 #42470learningfriendsParticipantI had the same black side with the x.
Deactivated the lightbox.
Will you update it? Would love to reactivate it asap. Thanks for any information.
9 December 2020 at 21:36 #42472DarkChibiShadowParticipantThanks for this! This is the quick fix I need, but I hope the swipebox comes back soon too!
9 December 2020 at 22:11 #42473ryfyParticipantSame issue but I don’t believe it’s specific to the menu. It happens wherever I click, whether the area is hyperlinked or not. Disabling for now.
10 December 2020 at 08:33 #42475sixtysevenParticipantTadaaa, I found a solution: There is a fork of the swipebox script that you can find under this github repository. Simply replace the jquery scripts under assets/swipebox in the plugin folder with the ones of the src/js of the github repository and you are good to go.
10 December 2020 at 12:15 #42476mfraz74ParticipantWith those files replaced the buttons to scroll don’t appear.
10 December 2020 at 13:40 #42477BartoszKeymasterEveryone,
The WordPress 5.6 release included major changes. We’ve found number of issues that affected Responsive Lightbox & Gallery and working on them one by one to prepare a complete bugfix release.
If you can, please hold on couple of days before a 5.6 upgrade. We plan to release an updated RLG by the end of the week.
Sorry for any inconveniences – we’re doing our best.10 December 2020 at 19:43 #42483Serhii13ParticipantI was already scared that you will no longer update the plugin. it’s good that you didn’t quit development
11 December 2020 at 16:17 #42487Mim.mhlParticipantI have same problem, but i dont have installed any of mentioned plugins, maybe there are some others? :(
11 December 2020 at 18:06 #42501TomekParticipantHello. I have the same problem. If that helps – I prepare screen from this error.
14 December 2020 at 12:37 #42519BartoszKeymasterHi everyone,
Please upgrade to the just released RLG version 2.3
This release should handle all the issues related to WordPress 5.6 major jQuery changes.
Plus it includes a nice set of new features.14 December 2020 at 14:09 #42520SanyaParticipantHello Bartosz,
Thank you all for working to get the plugin fixed. The black screen issue is gone but the challenge of the extension names still exist.
The website is not pulling the name of the pages rather the page Ids. For instance http://www.mysite.com/calendar returns a 404 error but the http://www.mysite.com/?page_id=8235 returns the actual page.
Don’t mean to add extra pressure but is there any way to solve this?14 December 2020 at 14:40 #42534BartoszKeymasterGreat to hear that @sanya
The remaining issue you mention however does not seem to be RLG related. The plugin is not handling ant rewrite rules. But maybe a fix for it is just to go to your site’s Permalinks settings and click Save.
14 December 2020 at 15:28 #42535travelformotionParticipantthnx for the update! still having a few problems especially on the portfolio and testimonials pages where the links to homepage and other links in the text not seem to work. Also flickr links don’t seem to work (pictures are shown, but if you click on them you get the black X page)
example: https://www.travelformotion.com/portfolio/aerial88/
14 December 2020 at 20:20 #42547SanyaParticipantThanks @Bartosz! I’ll check that out!
15 December 2020 at 02:19 #42553HarveyParticipantSeems to be working for me.
17 December 2020 at 04:21 #42605KatamarinoParticipantAfter the update, I now cannot access any Lightbox pages within WordPress. I get an error message telling me “Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this item.” (when trying to edit a gallery) or “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” when I try and access the settings from the Plug Ins menu.
Has anyone else encountered this? Everything else within my site works as normal.
17 December 2020 at 09:11 #42609Stacee EdwardsParticipantHaving all of the same issues listed here! When will there be an update for this?? This is a client’s site and he depends on this for sales. Please help!
17 December 2020 at 12:24 #42610BartoszKeymaster@staceeandco please share your site link, otherwise it’s impossible for us to check
18 December 2020 at 22:10 #42683Bob ChapmanParticipantWe have version 2.3.1 of Responsive Lightbox, which should be the latest version according to this thread. I then tried using the current version of jQuery from jQuery Migrate. (Use current in jQuery Migrate, save, delete cache.)
However, the Black Screen with X problem was there when I did that.
I deprecated the jQuery version in jQuery Migrate (Use Legacy 1.12.4-wp in jQuery Migrate, save, delete cache). This solved the problem (again).
19 December 2020 at 10:50 #42686lgcadminParticipantI am getting this message from the jquery migrator:
“Global events are undocumented and deprecated”
Problems began with WP update 5.6
20 December 2020 at 18:13 #42732Cliff_GParticipant#42605 yes, getting same “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page”. Have established that 5.5.3 and RL 2.3.1 is OK but 5.6+2.3.1 isn’t. The WP left-panel menu items for Gallery and Lightbox are also missing
26 December 2020 at 14:01 #42909Mr.MagpieParticipantHad the same issue with this plugin (versions 2.3.0 and 2.3.1) and WP 5.6.
Please deactivate RLB, purge all your caches (if applicable) and reactivate the plugin.
All plugin settings will be preserved, the settings are accessible again and the “Gallery” entry should reappear in the admin (side) menu. -
