Thanks for the great plugin!
I am using this plugin on a site with a lot of posts, which leads to a huge wp_post_view table, that impacts the performance of the mysql server. All i really need is the total view count of a post. Could you please tell me how to disable the counting of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly views? Can i do it by just commenting out a couple of rows in the script?
Maybe someone will come in handy!
Need to install for Reset Data parameter to 1 days, the plugin will keep the daily records from the last 1 days and remove older entries (once per day, using WP cron).
That’s exactly what you should do – set the Reset Data Interval to 1 day.
It will remove daily records after 24 hours.
What is kept in the DB is the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly total views count.
But the size of the views table should not impact the performance of your database. This table is not used for anything WP related except for the PVC functionality. It does increase number of records in the DB (which is obvious) and this number can be high, but the size of data stored is super small (by design) to keep your DB lightweight.
Hi, Thanks for the help.
Please tell me, is it possible to count only the total number of views?
Also, delete or commenting out a part of the code so that statistics are not collected for a
Collect total views only. Is it possible to do this?
Viewing 4 posts - 1 through 4 (of 4 total)
