Purchased Responsive Lightbox “Photos & Art Bundle – Unlimited sites” on 2024-07-04 and was able to install (11) of (12) extensions successfully into WordPress hosted by BlueHost.com by uploading the ZIP files I downloaded with my purchase then applying each of the (11) extension keys under Lightbox –> Licenses (entered the license key into appropriate extension field –> [SAVE CHANGES] .
Unfortunately, the license key for “Comments” extension = ……….(32 hex digits) was not accepted by WP, throwing the error message = “1 license activation failed.” Tried to apply the above license key multiple times without success. There was no field on the page Lightbox –> Licenses to apply my “Photo & Art Bundle” key =……….(32 hex digits)
Being able to allow my website’s visitors to add comments associated with Lightbox elements would be very helpful.
Thank you for any advice to activate your “Comments” extension.
25 July 2024 at 00:36 #55796JoshParticipantI’ve considered buying the Responsive Lightbox Photos & Art Bundle as the gallery looks the best out of all the one’s I’ve tested. Does the activation issue for comments happen on a fresh WordPress install? Obviously it should always work with a valid license. Wondering if it’s scenario specific or if it always breaks.
25 July 2024 at 03:22 #55797markINseattleParticipantMy WP instance is hosted by BlueHost.com and has been running for approx a year. As mentioned above the other (11) extensions installed with keys accepted just fine.
So far I haven’t received any help from Digital Factory regarding the “Comments” extension that didn’t load, just an automated email saying they received my support question and would get back to me in perhaps 24 hours … that was 3 days ago. Worrisome to see many comments on their forum are rather old and topics addressed seem sparse for a product claiming a very large installed base of users. YMMV, but I am concerned.
25 July 2024 at 20:42 #55799JoshParticipantA shame as I would have gladly bought the premium bundle if a few issues where resolved. Hopefully we hear back at some point? May the other 11 plugins serve you well.
21 August 2024 at 00:39 #55817JoshParticipantThere is a recent update. Does this resolve the comment extension issue?
21 August 2024 at 08:10 #55818markINseattleParticipantThanks for letting me know about the update. I will check to see if this allows the “comment extension” to activate correctly and then report back.

1 September 2024 at 07:24 #55895anyone-home-at-dFactoryParticipantNot only did the “Comments” extension update not work, I have not been able to use any of the “Responsive Lightbox” plugins at all within Bricks Builder WP editing environment.
I can see and use my installed “Bricksable” plugin elements inside Bricks Builder, but not a single “Responsive Lightbox” element is visible. I am only a WP novice so not seeing RL-elements could be operator error on my part. However I used the same installation procedure for RL as I did for the Bricksable plugin. I can see Bricksable elements in Bricks Builder but as mentioned, not a single RL element.
Other folks who post comments on the Bricks Builder online forum mention having installed (and I presume have used) “Responsive Lightbox” elements, however they could have installed RL plugins under an older WP version.
Could you let me know if you can see the free RL-lightbox plugin elements in whichever WP editing environment you are using ? And also let me know what version of WP ?
I have an unconfirmed suspicion that Responsive Lightbox is either a deadend product for the author Digital Factory and is no longer in active development, which might explain why RL could run under older versions of WP but not the most recent which my hosting vendor is using for my small website. Or… Digital Factory has become a shell company generating income from online sales enabled by the company’s prior reputation, but no longer funds ongoing software development work. Another hint: during the past few months the Digital Factory website throws WP errors when I have used some website functions. How many WP development company websites throw non-trivial WP errors that persist for months ? I wonder if Digital Factory has ceased to be a fully functioning company ?
9 September 2024 at 05:19 #55924JoshParticipantI tested free RL back in April which did alright. The pro version had many missing features but I saw that the wind wasn’t moving. I almost bought a license but waited to hear back – anything. Dfactory could still turn this situation around. But so far it’s crickets.
9 September 2024 at 15:21 #55927markINseattleParticipantJosh,
Thanks for your update.
Have not gotten any response … nada … neyet from Dfactory regarding that their plugin elements do not appear in side my Bricks Builder editor environment. The Bricks support forum has a fair amount of activity, however almost no responses to general HOW-TO questions that I can see. If a post references some esoteric bug issue, then the Bricks devs jump all over it, but we mere mortals asking more standard questions earn few views and even fewer replies. Bricks support is less than helpful in my direct experience, which means if Responsive Lightbox (dFactory) is a ghost company then I will have to try an get my money back.
I live in Washington State. Our consumer protection laws are some of the strongest in the United States. Contacting our State Attorney General (a personal friend, from my political fundraising days) who is now likely to be elected our state’s governor, might, might encourage the Attorney General’s office to sanction dFactory from doing any advertising or business in the State. Worth a try.
10 September 2024 at 20:35 #55986BartoszKeymasterHi All,
Sorry for replying that late. The forum is not used a lot and looks like the threads notifications were not working at all (majority of the support for the active users goes through the support system available after loggin in).
Anyway, we’ve managed to identify the issue with Lightbox Comments license activation. License keys are ok, no need to regenerate them – it’s the mechanism inside the plugin updater that had an issue.
This should be working since this release but in case the automatic update for the current version fails here are the steps to do this manually.
1. Log in to your account at dfactory.co
2. Visit Account and Purchase History
3. Click View Details and Downloads link for your purchase
4. Download the latest Lightbox Comments file
5. Enter the WordPress admin panel, find the Plugins menu and click Add New Plugin
6. At the top of the page there is a button Upload Plugin – click it and upload the zipped Lightbox Comments file
7. With Lightbox Comments installed and active visit Licenses in Lightbox menu/tab
8. Enter your license key and click Save Changes at the bottomThis should be it. Please let us know if that helps.
30 September 2024 at 08:18 #56049JoshParticipantAny luck?
