Is it possible to launch responsive lightbox from a WordPress menu link? I have selected prettyPhoto as the lightbox from the Responsive Lightbox settings page, and it works perfectly everywhere on the site. I haven’t been able to get it to work from a menu link, however.

    I am using WP 3.8.1.

Here is what I did when trying to make it work:

From the WP Menus page, I chose “Screen Options”, “Show Advanced Menu Properties”, and checked “Link Relationship (XFN).”

I created new menu item that was a link to a Vimeo video, and in the Link Relationship (XFN) field, I typed “lightbox.”

When I check the code in the browser using Firebug, the link looks correct and is displayed as “Watch Video

When you click the menu item, however, it just takes you to the Vimeo page instead of opening the video in a lightbox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Great plugin!

Sorry about my ignorance w/ posting the code I found using Firebug. Not sure how to post it so it displays. The point is, the link appears to be correct and the rel=”lightbox” is part of it.

Hello. Do you think my issue with launching the lightbox from the WordPress Menu Link is an issue with the theme I’m using? Or, is this not a common feature of a lightbox plugin?

It’s okay if it is not. I’m just trying to learn. Thanks. I really like your plugin. Very useful.

Looks like I didn’t read your post closely :)

RL was not designed to work that way. You could however do this with PHP preg_replace function and iframe mode (available in prettyPhoto, fancybox and Nivo). I don’t think it can be done with the WP Menu itself.

That’s all the information I was looking for. I wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong, or if the plugin wasn’t designed to do that. Thanks for the reply.

Hi, I’ve been trying to insert a photo gallery in a menu item, but the Lightbox plugin only let me show a single photo. How can I upload a gallery?

    Thank you so much
