A great, executed plugin – congratulations.

We’ve got 500 photos in our local history project Website. We want to watermark them and you plugin has shown to be the best.

Watermarking all works perfectly when ‘watermark on upload’ is turned on – each of the specified image sizes is stamped correctly, as you can see -> http://voices.onthewight.com/watermark-test-y-0px/

The issue occurs when I select an image and manually watermark. Not all size-versions are stamped.

Example 1 – The Full and Medium are marked fine, but Large and Thumbnail aren’t.

Example 2 – Results are not consistence. As you can see only the Thumbnail wasn’t done this time. (I’m not worried about the Thumbnail, but it’s the principle that not images are stamped that’s the issue)

Given I’ve got so many images (500) to do – which I think I will have to do using the manual method, I’m worried about not being able to rely that all files sizes are done.

On the off-chance – is there a way of mass watermarking all of the images we’ve uploaded already and getting consistent results?

Any other ideas would be gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance.

Simon, thanks for such a detailed report of the issue. We’re testing it in a couple of our sites and different server enviroments. We’lll get back to your issue as soon as we have a good, reliable answer.

Thanks for responding and offering to take a detailed look into it.

We appreciate that you’re providing the plugin free of charge, but any vague guidance as to how long it might take? The project is feeling exposed by having the images available online, but not watermarked.

    Hi Simon.
It is a very strange behaviour and we have to take a deeper look into this.

    A couple of questions:

    1. Which PHP version are you using?
    2. Are you using some other plugins that can be related with images, uploading files or bulk actions?
    3. Is automatic watermarking always work fine?

Hi Przemek. I’m sorry. I thought I’d replied to this yesterday.

I’m equally confused by this and am looking to why the images first off appeared like they weren’t all stamped, but now they are. I’m investigating the caching on the server.

In the mean time, here’s the answers to your question.
    1 – PHP 5.3.2
2 – The only image related plugin we run is FooBox Image Lightbox, but that’s just to do with display, not ingesting.
3 – Tried automatic twice just now and they worked fine.
    eg – http://voices.onthewight.com/watermark-test-auto-on-load-31-jul-13-v2/

Will come back to you after investigations on the server.

Quick update – Have just been through watermarking all of the images now.

I’ve got to head off now, so don’t have time right now to check if all sizes of them have been watermarked. Plan to tomorrow.

Still researching about possible server/caching issue.
