I’ve installed your plugin and the notice appears fine. I just don’t really understand what the plugin does. I mean, yeah, it displays a cookie notice. But what happens behind the scenes? Does it stop all cookies from being set? Because:

I am wondering about the setting where it says I should enter non-functional JS code, such as Google Analytics. So far, I’ve had another plugin insert that code.

    Questions:

    • Does the code generated by the Analytics plugin still work, or is it blocked by your plugin?
    • If it still works, do I need to change anything about my setup? I.e., do I need to remove the existing Analytics plugin and insert the JS code in the field in your settings?

    Thanks for your help!

(I’ve posted this also on wordpress.org: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/installation-changes-to-google-analytics-scripts/ – really hoping for a reply?)

I have the same questions, the script does not get blocked after adding it in that section:
Option to refuse third party non functional cookies

    Hi bkatrin,

    Hope this helps?

I found out ( by testing ) that we need to delete the standard google analytics script ( like with some plugin to add the script or manually adding it ). Then only add the script into the cookie notice “Option to refuse third party non functional cookies”.

When I did that and looked in my Google Analytics real time visitors, I was not detected UNTIL I clicked my ” I agree” button.

So to answer your question, yes we need to delete the previously added scrypt, and ONLY add in the cookie notice!
