    Hello Dfactory,

A couple of days ago I updated all my plugins, themes and WordPress of the site eb60.org to their most recent versions, amongst which Events Maker 1.1.6. I’m using Events Maker in a very basis manner as an agenda for our upcoming events, (although I have managed before to make some tweaks to the layout of single events and the announcements of those events):
    http://eb60.org/agenda/

Since then both WordPress (4.0) and Events Maker (1.2.0) came up with updates. I’ve tested Events Maker 1.2.0 along with WordPress 3.9.2, and the last -recent- update of the site’s theme Stare.

Events Maker 1.2.0 at that point interfered with the layout of posts and pages of the site. Wrong fonts showed up in texts and the alignment of text wasn’t the way it’s supposed to be. As I need this agenda to work I un-installed this latest version once again and have downgraded for now to Events Planner 1.0.9, although I have also tested 1.1.6, which seemed to work fine.

I’d love to keep using both Events Planner and Stare and wonder if you could help me find this bug, where ever it hides, and what I can do to help you to do so.

Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

From what I see, the way events are displayed in the provided URL is controlled by the stare.css file.

I don’t know your desired design by this can be completely controlled by the theme. If you made some changes recently, can’t you try to adjust that again.

Events Maker 1.2.0 came with important template files changes, but NOT in terms of the design or HTML output. This means you should not see any difference.

It’s hasn’t got real priority to me at the moment, I just wanted to have all my plugins up to date.

I’ve clean installed a WP (3.9) website with only Autofocus and Eventsmaker 1.1.6. locally. After updating to Eventsmaker 2.0 I saw the same symptoms. A post based on the standard layout of an AF post looks scrambled. After that I updated to WP 4.0 but that didn’t change things for the better.

For instance almost everything is suddenly alligned to the left. Attached is a screenshot. On our site you can see the way for instance the flavicons should align. Disabling Eventsmaker fixes it.

I hope this is of any use to you.

Events maker uses template files comatible with the 4 default WP themes.

If you’re using custom theme in most cases you have to adjust the Events Maker output to suite your theme design.

    Thanks Bartozs,

This is interresting. When I find time to look into it and find a solution I’ll keep in mind to report back.

    Hello Bartosz,

Finally I’ve found time to take a closer look at this. The file in EM that seems to cause the issue I discribe above is class-templates.php. When I remove that it stops. By moving ALL the template-files of EM into the theme’s folder next, the theme works normally again and shows the EM features according to the template files.

I’ve been moving EM files in and out of the EM directory and at first glance the mentioned file is the only one causing real problems.

This testing was done with WP 4.4.1, EM 1.4.5 the Stare theme.

    Hi,

It’s all understandable. That’s what template files are for – to use it and adjust them to fit your current theme. EM can’t adjust itse;f to any theme just like that, exactly like WooCommerce or any other plugins using templates.

@IrfanAlam, you have to adjust the themplate files to your needs – the files are located in plugin folder /templates.
You may also use template hooks or pluggable functions.

The plugin itself can’t handle that for you.

I am having the same issue. Which files do I need to move, and where do I need to move them in order to fix the layout issue?

You can use filter hooks or just copy plugin template files (plugin folder/templates/) to your theme folder. Then you can make any modifications to make it suite your theme.
