Hello, we set an event to private, and now it is not allowing us to edit the event. Normally this would be a brush off for another day, except this private event is now showing to the public. Help!

The event is the “PRIVATE: CROWN CITY COMEDY PRESENTED BY TRIPLE C BREWERY” that recurs everyy Wednesday. It’s marked as private when logged in, but displays to the public when not logged in.

    Hi there.
We’ve check that in our enviroment and everything seems ok, like for regular events.
If even it private and you don’t have the required capability you will not be able to edit it if not logged in as admin (or other role having the cap) and you will not see it on the frontend if you’re not logged in.
Thats how WordPress private posts (and Events Maker) work.

This still doesn’t explain why I no longer have the option to edit the post. Even logged in as admin, the edit option is not there.

No, it doesn’t explain that. Hard to say what’s the problem but it seems to be something specific to your WP install.

Any ideas on the best way to go about fixing it?

Same issue as crownstation. I put inadvertently an event to private and I never could modify it.
The w/a was to duplicate it as public.
