    Hi there,

with the plugin update came a beaviour change of the photoswipe add on in regards to mobile viewport behaviour…

    Before:
Images opened up to full viewport width
    Now:
Images open only as small thumb center of viewport

    Before:
closing lightbox minimize picture back to the original container (nice)
    Now:
Lightbox just fades out (not that nice)

Are these intentional changes and is there a way to reinstate the old behaviour?

Thx for some info on this

    Axel

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this.

We checked it and this does look like a regression related to the recent PhotoSwipe major update, not an intentional behavior change.

    What changed:
    – on mobile, the PhotoSwipe integration started applying too much slide padding, which made images open much smaller than before instead of using the available viewport width
    – the old zoom-back-to-thumbnail close animation was also lost during the migration, so the lightbox now fades out instead of minimizing back to the original image

So in short: no, this was not meant to change from a UX point of view.

We have identified the cause and prepared a fix to restore the larger mobile opening size and the thumbnail-based open/close transition behavior. It’s going to be available in the upcoming 1.3.7 release of Photoswipe RLG addon.

    Thanks again for flagging it.
